How does online payment work?
Connect your Stripe account (free to set up). When you send an invoice with a payment link, clients pay by card. Stripe deposits the funds to your bank account within 1–2 business days.
What are the payment processing fees?
Stripe charges 2.9% + 30¢ per transaction — the industry standard. BuildOrder doesn't add any additional fees on top of that.
Can I invoice for partial payments or deposits?
Yes. Set a deposit percentage on your proposal and BuildOrder tracks the deposit separately from the final balance. Both payments are recorded automatically.
Do I need a Stripe account to send invoices?
No. You can create and send invoices without Stripe — clients just can't pay online. To collect card payments, connect a Stripe account from your BuildOrder settings.
